Hikers
and Bikers will enjoy the 5 mile long paved trail that is located
right outside our main gate! Thanks to a $1,000,000 grant from the
Texas Department of Transportation, great cooperation (as usual)
from the City of Mission and some real effort from the folks at
Bentsen Palm Development, the trail is quickly becoming a popular
pastime.
The
trail begins at Bentsen Palm Village RV Resort across from the World
Birding Center Headquarters, takes you past some beautiful South
Texas farmland, over a new bridge across the Mission Main Canal,
then trails down between the canal and some very scenic native habitat
for a mile and a half or so before entering a variety of South Texas
brush and prairie country, then finishes up at the Mission Nature
Park. With the World Birding Center, the NABA Butterfly Park, and
the addition of new trails and habitat at Bentsen State Park, there
is a lot to see and do.
Call
EARLY for reservations to take advantage our great seasonal rates
and don't forget we have also have full-accomodation cabins available.
Better than a hotel room, very comfortable, full kitchen, sleeps
up to six. Just a walk away from some of the best birding in the
country!
